Project Management Summary:
Why did you make the Gantt Chart?
I made the Gantt Chart to effectively lay out the process for time management as there was a lot of work for only a few days. The Gantt Chart was there to lay out the plans for each day so I could finish on time.

Materials |
Turbidity (NTU) |
Findings |
Sand |
306.0 |
The sand becomes compact when it is wet. |
Seashells |
145.8 |
The seashells are really good filters by themselves. |
Pebbles |
289.6 |
Struggles to gather both small and big minerals. |
Rocks |
203.2 |
Only gathers big minerals. |
Coffee Filter |
118.7 |
Good filter against big minerals. |

Trials |
Turbidity (NTUs) |
Issues |
Test 1 |
196 |
The sand was dry. |
Test 2 |
106 |
The sand was unsettled and bled through the coffee filter. |
Test 3 |
50.6 |
The sand was settled and wet, but the seashells needed to be adjusted. |
Test 4 |
27 |
Needed time to give the filter time to be completely settled. |
Test 5 |
26 |
Realized the cloth needed to be thicker so I tripled the thickness of the cloth. |
Test 6 |
51 |
Realized I needed to sanitize my cup that gathered water with clean water between tests. |
Test 7 |
23 |
Confirmation that I needed to sanitize my cup. |

What Modifications Did You Use?
I wet the sand first before measuring since I realized that the sand would need time to settle and become compact. I also realized after a few testing periods that I needed to clean the cup that gathered the filtered water as there might be left over sediments from previous trials.

The project is to make us think outside of the box and come up with variations that could be efficient water filter systems plus seeing which material is more efficient than others. I learned a lot about how nature is the best filtration system, as many of the sediments and minerals that can be found near water can produce consistent results for safe water. Next time, I think I will try to change the coffee filters and try to find better alternatives since I realized over time it will be less efficient plus would require more maintenance. So I think changing the coffee filter to a new material that requires less maintenance and more apt to the damp water. Honestly, I think this project is pretty good as it is pretty self-sufficient and the goals are pretty straightforward. I think this project does not require any changes that I noticed.
